Amulet Movie

Post by thirdeyeh » Fri Mar 14, 2008 7:00 pm

Not quite sure if this is where t his topic should remain, but I figured I would start it here.

Firstly congratulation Kazu! I can't wait to see it. I know you can't give away much, but how much is it going to change things with Willow actually being younger than Jaden and in the book Emily being older than Navin?

Also, are you still doing a book tour? I was really hoping if you made it down here near Florida to meet you and get your signature in my hardback! 8)

Awesome!! I can see Will Smith making a great family adventure movie of Amulet. His kids are pretty good little actors, too, and with Dad on the set (and maybe even playing a cameo?) I'm sure it will help them.

Here's an article from I was pretty stoked to see this while catching up on movie news...

Congrats, Kazu!

Wow, that's pretty exciting. These fantasy kid movie series seem to be all the rage these days. Who's distributing?

I can't wait to see Miskit step out of the robotic suit! And seeing those walking octopus creatures will be pretty sweet! Congrats Kazu!

This whole thing is really exciting, and I think the film is in very good hands. After meeting with Akiva Goldsman's assistant producer the other day, and hearing about the screenwriters they were going after (they were choosing among my favorite writers), I can tell Amulet is going to be treated very well. I'm looking forward to discussing with them some ideas on how to adjust the story and concepts to better suit Jaden and Willow. As far as the feeling of the book goes, I couldn't possibly think of a better family(!) to carry that across to the film world.

Congratulations Kazu (and all who helped on Amulet); I'm going to have to leave a copy of Amulet in our library.

Makes me wonder if there is going to be a cameo appearance by Kazu in the movie.

Jesus. Fucking. Christ. (pardon my language.)

I'm still trying to wrap my brain around this. If nothing else, this totally validates for me the idea of following your passion, balls to the wall, and not looking back. Occasionally, it can pay off big.

Awesome, Kazu, I know you deserve it. I'm going to see it opening day.
