For Challenge #5, starting Jan 29, 2007:

The Challenge is back by popular demand (if one prompt indicates popular support). Let's do a riff on the word "Blue". Does the word indicate an emotional state? A style of dress? Something out of the clear sky?

Quote:
BLUE - Shortly after moving to Paris from Barcelona, Picasso began to produce works that were suffused in blue. This particular pigment is effective in conveying a sombre tone. The psychological trigger for these depressing paintings was the suicide of Picasso's friend Casagemas. The Blue Period work is quite sentimental, but we must keep in mind that Picasso was still in his late teens, away from home for the first time, and living in very poor conditions. - Artchive.com

Rules for participants:

1. This challenge is open to anyone.
2. Illustrate the concept in any way of your choosing... still pic, sequential art, animation...
3. Post your piece below. (I suggest only the final piece. If we post WIPs in this thread, it's liable to become unweildy.)
4. Have fun!

NOTE: Next challenge starts Monday, Feb 12, 2007.

Vince, it's beautiful! Beautful picked blue colors, I like it a lot.

Here's my blue.
I started on something completely different and digital, but last night I tried a new "technique" - drawing with blue marker and using black thick pen on top.

Thanks, Muffin! I like that first sketch a lot. It's really cool to see everyone approaching the theme so differently. Good times -- great suggestion, Og. :D

I feel the same, Aaron - I still intend to do this one. And now it's time for a new one. BLEAH!

Love seeing all the new entries this time. Hopefully I'll get my game on this time. Great job, everyone...
