"A Battle between Light and Dark" webcomic

Post by -loo-bot- » Mon Oct 30, 2006 3:41 pm

Hi,
I smell so new...and I'm amazed at all the work posted on this board. I hope my webcomic measures up half-ways.

My webcomic is an imaginative tale about the co-existence between the friendly creatures of the light and the terrifying beasts of the dark.

The site is updated every Monday with a new chapter.

Enjoy!

I really like your style. Only wish I didn't have to keep scrolling to see the whole pages.

Cool, I'll keep readin.
To view the last of me, a living frame
For one more picture! in a sheet of flame
I saw them and I knew them all. And yet
Dauntless the slug-horn to my lips I set,
And blew. "Childe Roland to the Dark Tower came."

Thank you!
For some reason, horizontal scrolls show up on IE browsers but looks fine on Firefox. As for the long vertical scrolls, that's intentional

This is super-cool. I like your colours and your textury shading. Also, this is the first website I've seen in ages where the music didn't bother me. Also also, Sheridan grads rock socks. 8)

Okay, I really like the style but I'm going to have to agree with the complaints about the scrolling frame. You could have a separate viewer page, and if you really want to include the scroll frame, do it where we can easily view two or three panels at once.
I wonder what happens to that girl... :( Want to read more.

Nice lookin'! I will make sure to read it all.

I used to have an inset frame for comics as well, but readers didn't like it. They find scrolling to be a foul, evil thing that they wish to avoid at all costs, unless absolutely necessary (like in an 'infinite canvas' comic). Here, I don't think it would hurt your presentation to serve the story up in smaller chunks for easier viewing.

The music is nice but unnecessary and distracting, especially when it plays automatically without warning. Let your work speak for yourself and it'll come across more clearly.

I actually stumbled upon your comic on onlinecomics.net, I really enjoy it. Great stuff. (I do agree with the scrolling aspect though, a little annoying)

I didn’t know that scrolling was a less preferred method to display a webcomic. This being my first one, I guess it’s good to know in the future. My main intention was to have the viewer scroll to the same tempo as the song, as if it’s an old-fashion silent moving picture, or a slideshow. For this certain webcomic, I found it was best to have it flow with a smooth downward motion on the mouse to go with the calm, soft ambiance, rather than having breaks within the action of the chapter. I hope this is a valid excuse for me to be forgiven.
Anyways, thanks for the kind words on my art!
