For he's a jolly good fellow

Post by campy22 » Mon Sep 11, 2006 11:27 am

I did a little research on vikings , and discovered that they were actually a bunch of jolly good fellows who liked bards flowers, and dancing, among the other usual looting, pillaging and burning..

Charming.

Blom by the way... I saw you posted something about Peter Madsen and his series of books.

I absolutely ADORED his work

Lost for words! This is so fun Vikings! HA HA HA HA HA !!! :D
Yes, we still are Vikings, but got tired of all the fighting and started the Nobel Peace Price and one of ouer exports now is PEACE TO THE WORLD and HAVING FUN! We never stopped with the dancing and the flowerthingy...

Peder Madsen is one of my big heros in the cartoonworld to, and I got to hear him speak about making his comic some years back where I also got a quick drawing from him. If you see him come to a place near you, go and hear what he has to say, it´s totaly wow!

PS: a fun thing about Vikings that nearly everyone who draws them does, but they did not have was horns on there helms. They did not have that... But I like yours anyway Pascal! There jolly good! :D ;)

Looks like great minds think alike. Yes, Peter Madsen is a big inspiration on us scandinavians.

That's the imdb page for "Ronya Plunderdaughter" (rough translation)

(Nu skall blodet flyta! I think everyone from our countries know that line.)

Viking thread, eh?

Here's the main Viking from one of my Gunwhale stories-in-progress.

"Finn"(means 'wanderer' in Old Norse, I believe)

And, here's a drawing I did for my aforementioned story, that was inspired by Viking art. I was trying to get more into their style for this.

Haven't had time to color them yet.
