Home Ec. *updated 05.02.06*

Post by BigJKO » Thu Aug 04, 2005 9:40 am

I've been drawing these in my free time. I obviously don't have a lot of free time, as there are only two of these right now.. :P

UPDATE: So, I've put up a website for these babies. The web comic is titled 'Home Economics' and you can visit the little site here. (Oh, how I wish I had a real URL.. :( )

Update! I hope someone out there will get this one:

Nice. Great visual humor!

But they get confusing without lined panels. They don't need too much, really to fix the problem. Maybe in the first comic a border around the second and last panels. In the second comic you might be able to get by with just a border around the second panel. But at least that.

Yeah, in the second one the first two panels do look like they could be the same one on first glance. Other than that fantastic!

*update*

Thank you for all the great comments! Keep 'em coming! :D

I ended up making a border around every panel.

And put up a new one (see first post), that doesn't really have an actual punchline. But hell, who needs 'em?!

Thank you for your reply. In order to keep from burning out on this, I've decided to try and schedule my comic-making as a weekly sort of thing. I mean, I've got school starting next week, so I won't have much time.

I haven't had time to check out all you guys' websites enough, but I've already seen your work JP. Love it. Especially 'Whatta?' Hilarious.

And also, House of Hatka, I've seen one strip of Zita the Space Girl. Made me lough out loud. Thanks for the comments. I'm in dire need of more, cause I constantly want to improve.

Thanks! I've been meaning to update Whatta? for quite some time. The trouble is that I have to keep an eye on City-magazine, which strips are published and etc, so I'll know which ones I can upload. There's a bunch of them waiting anyhow since it's a bi-weekly strip.

I sure hope that you'd have the time to throw one of your strips on the web every now and then. Maybe if not weekly, then bi-weekly. :)

 The toaster one took me a few minutes, but it was worth the wait. That's the best one so far! Very cool stuff. Nice title for your site, too.

I think I get the last one. Is he trying to "off" all the games that are more fun than him?

Hey, these are great. Some of the scenes could be more clearly conveyed (as with the final panel in the first strip), but I think that will just come with practice. Great start here! I love that second one.
