Deepest apologies to Miyazaki-san...

EDIT: since Kazu was kind enough to link to this thread, I figure I might as well dump all the images so far into this first post...

i like the drawing although i do have a problem with the lack of rain. i guess the lines in the background are supposed to give that effect but the characters are completely out of it and i find that really strange.

my 2 cents...

I agree with the lack of rain comment. Maybe there could be some rain bouncing off of the umbrellas and some in front of the characters

Thanks guys! I agree in part about the rain bit, but I was worried about completely muddying up the image with lines in front of the characters. I'll keep that in mind the next time I try something like this.

And Bannister sent me this, which totally trumps my version:

Ha ha! Awesome! That's totally my favorite scene! (Well, one of them, I find that when I watch this movie I say "Oh! This is my favorite scene!" about every 15 minutes... :P )

Thanks, everyone! But don't you hate it when your brain goes off on a tangent?

After Watterson, of course. :)

Oh jeez! That's funny because that's one of the Calvin and Hobbes images that's probably ripped off the most, with the illegal t-shirts and all that. :P

Seriously though, great job Kean. It's fun to see cartoons mix 'n' match :D

These are all great, Kean! The Totoro ones make me really want to watch Totoro. Great job, man.
