School assignment to make a poster for "any festival you'd like." Yeah, so I'm a smart-aleck.
Version
with type...type kills me though, among other things.

I like it with the type, although it looks a bit anti-aliased or outlined or something. It's a nice touch with the layering of the type, good font too.

I wish I could draw like that when I was in school? Is this for highschool? College?

Thanks, I'm glad you guys like!
Monk --> I did lightly outline the type, because without it the type sort of just...floated on top. Not sure how successful that is, but it didn't seem to match the rest of the drawing without some soft outlines. Anyhow, the typeface is Migraine Serif (random fyi).

Quez:
I like the colors and textures, but most of all I really like the shapes. I like that ancient water-style that you're using (can't recall the artist's name), and it totally fits in with your ancient seamonsters.
The piece is really cool.
I can't fly.

Nice work. The sea monsters remind me of older maps with the sea monster drawings on them.

Bat-winged fish = nice.
I also like the subtle (white inked?) cloud outlines. The whole pic has a nice luminosity to it.

Aw man, I really glad you guys picked up on the ancient sea monster-ness (yep, I borrowed the waves too...but don't remember the artist's name either >_>)! :D That makes me feel all successful-warm-fuzzy.
