In the Realms of th Unreal.

A documentary about Henry Darger, who was orphaned as a young boy in the 1900's, was institutionalized as "feeble-minded", and worked the rest of his life as a janitor. After he died, thousands of water-color paintings and drawings were found in his room, as well as a 19,000 manuscript to the epic story of the Glandeco-Angelinian war - the Angelinians are all little girls, who were inslaved by th Glandelinian adults.

The documentary itself, was interesting, but had some problems, i.e. interviews were very un-informative, and the quality of the picture were really horrible at times. they also animated some of Darger's paintings, done really simply in Aftereffects or something.

But it was interesting to see the film to finding out about Hanry Darger, to learn more about where his whole fantasy world came from after looking at his life story.

This sounds intriguing! Is it a theatrical run or on DVD? I'd like to see this!

It's not showing anywhere near me at the moment... sigh. Oh well, sooner or later I catch it.
