Hi! my first post on this forum

With this I hope to show my obsession with treees!
If you like it, there's a lot more where this came from at my gallery site:

They're all watercolors
Well, that's it for now. Happy new year everyone.

Wow, those are some pretty awesome trees. Nice watercolor work too, it can be tough to get such strong lines and colors with watercolor, but you've done. Great stuff!

I love that first one. It's so atmospheric. I wish I had a forest like that near me
On the second one, the tree trunk looks a tad unnatural - where it branches off the roots. Did you use reference for the form or did you invent that one?

Ehh... I actually never use references for my pictures in the sense that I don't have a photo when paint the final piece, but I have usually got some kind of inspiration.
The idea for the hole concept of the one you mention, I got when I thought back at LOTR whitch I read a looong time ago.
And if you just look at your surroundings with a little fantay, anything can set of a new idea.

Thanks everybody! This is what gives you the energy to ignore all the things you know that you have to do, bring out tha watercolors and the brushes and sit down for 20 hours and paint.
Well well, here's a painting with a differnt color theme.
I'll be back.
