I had some leftover watercolor paper drifting around my floor, so I drew a Spider-Girl on it. It took me
days to get the body right - I may be a little rusty. *grimace* I inked it last night.
After church today I was playing with watercolor pencils, and started painting the sketch. It's actually turning out okay - I'll respond to this with the finished painting.

Here's the finish! Yes, this is watercolor pencils. I'm really pleased with the way it turned out. The scan was a little too bright, so I brought down the brightness just a little bit.

Great job, I like how you handled the watercolor pencils...I really need to try those.

I like both versions. I also like your attention to anatomy. Is that why it took you so long to get the figure right?

Nice! It's got that old style from the first comics.
I especially like the shadows in the colored version. Nicely calculated light.

Dustin - This turned out far better than I expected. I tested all the layering on separate paper first - it helps so much.
Frank - You know me well. Yes, I 'burned' a whole other sheet trying to figure it out.
Anteater - Thank you. I think my lighting works out better when I don't agonize over it so much (which I didn't here.) Stylistically, I guess this is Alex Ross crossed with Mark Bagley.
