I just saw this Academy nominated short animated film recently. Very good. Awesome music.
Anyone seen any good animated shorts lately? New or old.

Mark Osborne is one of my favorite directors, and MORE is one of my favorite films. How he gets so much emotion in such a short film is something I'll never understand.
I interviewed him for AnimWatch a couple of years back. You might enjoy some behind-the-scenes info:

And even though it is a shamelessly self-serving plug, if you're interested in indie animation, AnimWatch is a site you should check out:
http://www.animwatch.com/index2.php
Lots of interviews up there including ones with Michel Gagne and Pascal Campion...
Tons of indie stuff up there, and even a podcast to put on and listen to while you're drawing/animating/commuting...
(New episode will be going up today...)

I love More aswell, be sure to check out Mark Osbornes website
www.happyproduct.com
You can buy the dvd there and watch a better qt version of the film there (as I just noticed that the youtube link is taken down).
As Og said, there are tons of great shortfilms profiled on animwatch, so be sure to check thoose out if you're interested. There are also a whole bunch of posts in the forum with tips to various shortfilms aswell.
Here's another couple of youtube gems:

I’ve got a wee site going for shorts that I love, although two of them here are actually live action shorts, three of them however are animations...there’s only five films in total on it so far.

One of my favorite shorts of all time, Osamu Tezuka's "Jumping":

It's so much like so many of my dreams.
I also have nostalgic love for this short, Janko Raven. Special appearance by James Earl Jones haha:

One of my favorites is "Hidden Life of the Burrowing Owl". Great short, not only because my friend made it, but because it's actually good.
You can't see it in it's entirety online, yet. But you can catch it at the Spike and Mikes Festival of Animation this year. Watch a trailer here.
