Ah well, I...JJ...WE... ;) have been lurking here for quite a while now so maybe it's time to show a few piccies. So here follows a selection for which your comments and critique would be very much appreciated. :)

oh, lots of really good stuff! I love the northern light-piece, it looks like it could be by the norwegian fjords. :) Nice depth. Glad you showed us all this.

Well, you know I'm a JJ fan. Though I've mostly only seen his comics. These pieces are awesome. :)

Nyh to people who are a JJ fan and not an El fan. :( :p But yah, these are his piccies, I guess, so... ;)

The Northern lights one is more inspired by the same in Finland. :) Oh and Scott n Muffin - thanks a lot! :)

I like the paintings! It`s like they shine back at you. My favorite is the last one with the gate into the strange narrow road. I think you got a good style, have you tried to make illustrations for the Kalevala poems?

i think that these are all rather fabulous! i love the sense of quiet and wonder that you exude in all of your pieces and that last one is particularly whimsical. on a random note, i think i actually favorited the painting of the grassy fields on the dA a long while back so allow me to compliment you again and say please keep on posting!

Cool environments! They seem a bit soft in places, but very pleasant to look at

JJ here.

Scott Hallett: Thanks. :) That Family Jewels pic is a strange mix of styles and techniques..

Muffin: Thanks. Not Norwegian fjords exactly, but a Scandinavian scenery anyway.

jdalton: These are all non commercial illustrations, done mostly during coffee breaks at work. ;)

Blom: I've not done drawings of the poems themselves, but I've drawn a group portrait of the main characters a good while back.

mr cow: Thanks. :)

wd_kimmy: Danke.

TmDurn7: Yes, the sense of quiet and wonder seems to be a general theme here.. now that I think of it, I haven't done that many actiony pictures.. I should draw some battle scenes or something for a change.

Biocreep: Thanks. I'm aware of the unnecessary amount of softness at placesm and that's a thing I'm currently trying to improve..

JonS: Thanks a lot. :)

That group portrait is great. It explains a lot, and with the text below makes me want to read it. (I have got the book, but it`s in one box after moving, so I need to find it again now. ;) ) Thanks for showing. :D
