It's all right, but it'll never hold a candle to the joy that is Ribena.

(Ribena, Ovaltine and Vitasoy were staples of mine growing up.)

Hey! No ragging on the ovaltine... mmmm.... it had strange properties of being the only additive to milk that didn't make me cough from my milk allergy. Weird. And it saves the time of stirring too. Stupid nesquik.

I forgot this drink even existed. I seem to remember it was as favorite of mine growing up. Now I feel like a dick.

I'm a huge ovaltine fan. Its very rare I met others who enjoy this drink. I often find myself in fist fights with my friends who perfer hersey's chocolate mix drink.

bump for the ribena shout out, I used to drink that and squash all the time.

As far as ovaltine goes I've never tried it but I saw this thread and thought about "A Christmas Story," if you've seen the movie you know what I mean if you haven't what the hell's wrong with you?!

When I was younger my favorite thing about having a cup of ovaltine was getting a small spoonful of the dust (gravel?) and eating it raw. I'd always just sneak one in 'cause I liked it. :P

I liked it more than Nesquik because Ovaltine diffused better in the milk. I only seem to be able to get Nesquik these days and I only use it in Hot Chocolate (and not the crummy "just add water" hot chocolate either).

I love Ovaltine. My wife and I drink it regularly. The Chocolate Malt flavor is the best too.

1.) take a glass of milk

2.) put ovaltine (or any other chocolate powder you drink, i think it works better with Nes-quick) on the top and don't mix it, leaving the powder above the milk.

3.) Drink it!

Voila! I call it Ala Cough! (TM) I used to do it as a kid alot, and once you drink it, you'll understand why i loved it.

I didn't discover Ovaltine until I was in college. Once I got used to it, I found that I didn't like Nesquik anymore. Waaayyyyy too sweet. Chocolate malt is just sweet and chocolatey enough to be good and not enough to be overwhelming. I brought my new addiction home during break once, and got my dad addicted to it. Hahaha.

I've always been a big milk-drinker, though.
