El Gallo

El Gallo.
Austin, TX.
Somewhere on 6th Street.

I went there with two friends. When we got there, there was a 15-20 minute wait. Then we got seated next to a window. I ordered some carnitas, which are these pieces of pork that are baked in Coca-Cola.

I and one of my friends had that, and my other friend had a combo plate which looked pretty good. So after that, they asked if we wanted dessert. I ordered some pineapple sherbert. It was HOLY. They serve in a little bowl that's PRE-HEATED so it doesn't stay icy, and it keeps your hands warm. The sherbert is light and very good.

Then when we got the bill, they gave us some delicous pralines that were also holy and blessed.

But the best part is, for a combo plate, and two plates of gigantic hunks of pork, dessert, and some home-made candy, it cost UNDER 50$.

Reasonable? Yes. So tempting, it would make Jesus pry himself off of the cross to get some of that food? HELL YES.
They call me Dr. Worm....good morning how are you, I'm Dr. Worm.
