I'm on a Raveonettes kick this afternoon. Garage/surf tunes. Can't go wrong with that.

...and I'm really digging Janet's new album. A little spotty in places, but some of her songs have some really catchy hooks. Next in line for a spin? Prince's Musicology. Mmmmm. Great artists from my youth bringin' back some new music. Gotta love it.

Loretta Lynn's comeback album, Van Lear Rose, is simply amazing. Some of the best contemporary country blues I've heard in a long time, and Jack White's (that White Stripes fella) arrangements and guitars are some of the best things I've ever heard out of him.

After watching 21 Grams again I noticed that several songs were performed by Ozomatli, a latin band which hooked up with Cut Chemist and Chali 2na of Jurrasic 5 to create a fun album.

Also, check out Isobel Campbell's 3rd Solo record, Amormo. She recently quit Belle and Sebastian to do her own thing, but her wonderful voice still shines with or without Stuart Murdoch.

I guess I'll list the albums I last bought as well:

Modest Mouse - Good News For People Who Like Bad News

Snow Patrol - Final Straw

Death Cab For Cutie - Transatlanticism

But prior to those, I've been on an Oasis revisited kick.

Rufus' Poses was a good album, despite his first album being really inconsistent. Haven't heard the new one(s?) yet, though. He was really chatty (and entertaining) live, when he opened for Tori Amos a couple of years ago.

Currently listening to Shakkazombie's "Siroi Yami no Naka." Japanese harmonica rap indeed. Mere words cannot express how awesome this is (via Listen Closer).

It's 3:30 in the morning, I am about to spend a large sum of money in the next few minutes, and I am listening to Underworld's Everything, Everything cranked up far too loud...
