Funniest song ever?

Post by zampano » Wed Dec 01, 2004 1:49 pm

Hey guys,

What are your picks for the funniest, laugh-out-loud songs ever?

My nominations:
'Circular Impression' by The Extras
'Gay Eskimo' - Tenacious D cover (where they launch into
impressions of Van Morrison, the Proclaimers, Oasis, & Bob Dylan singing
the same song)

Yes! Gay Eskimo is hilarious!

You can't go past Amish Paradise or The Saga Begins by Weird Al.

Anything by Richard Cheese is usually a side-splitter. I especially dig his renditions of Radiohead's Creep, The Prodigy's Smack My Bitch Up and Down With the Sickness from the Dawn of the Dead soundtrack.

I must give a nod to They Might Be Giants, who have many humorous songs, but I think the most funny song they've written is "Shoehorn with Teeth," if only for their use of a glockenspiel. "I am not Your Broom" runs a close second.

Wesley Willis has a few good ones. "Rock n' Roll McDonalds" always makes me laugh. I like to sing it off-key at work.

Also Gwar's "Fish Fuck" is a nice diddy about makin' love to some sea-life.

Nah, it's all aboot "Let's talk dirty in Hawaiian" by....well....many many people. Close second to "Short people (Got no reason)", that's my vote.

I've always enjoyed Mojo Nixon's cover of "Girlfriend in a Coma", where he takes a break mid-way through the song to make fun of Morrisey.
i heard rumors, he was into

Frank Zappa - Titties and Beer (live in NY)

It was my introduction to Zappa's universe and still a classic in my library...

Queen is hilarious. "The Bicycle Race" is funny enough that me and my friends had to pull over on the way to the mountains to avoid crashing the car, we were laughing so hard the first time we all heard it. It was also the morning after a sleepless night, but that song is still hysterical.

Bicycle Race was on the overhead at the bookstore I work several months ago, yet a lass who's a little off her nut keeps singing the damned song!

I must also recommend TMBG's "Older"

Five Iron Frenzy always had me rolling on the floor with their song antics.

I always thought that Bob Log III's "Clap Your Titties" was pretty good, because it has... well... titty clapping in it.

Also, anything by Andre Williams is pretty much gold. Live, he's even better.

I love "I am not your broom" by They Might Be Giants too!

There's a lot of really hillarious songs by James Kochalka Superstar.

Almost every album of his is filled with at least 2-3 of the most funny songs ever :)

Pony the Penis--probably getting the most votes from unsuspecting listeners.

But "Woo Whoo and Nay Nay" a song dedicated to 2 Horses James knows is a CLASSIC amongst my family.

"Talk to the Wookie" goes over well with the Starwars crew.

And Carrot Boy the Beautiful Kochalka's rock opera...is a masterpeice.

Weird Al's my favorite musician of all time, so I'll recommened pretty much anything he does as being hilarious. Of particular funny note: When I Was Your Age, I Remember Larry, Mr. Frump In The Iron Lung, and Your Horoscope For Today.

Yeah, Five Iron Frenzy has some hilarious stuff. So do the Aquabats.

Richard Cheese is great.

Ray Stevens has some good ones.

Don't forget They Might Be Giants! Robot Parade is one of the funniest damn songs I've ever heard. My sides nearly split from laughing so hard when I first heard that song.
