Nice stuff everybody!

Kean: Thanks for the suggestions! I got those songs from your site if you want to take them down.

Here's some cd art i made:

I didn't throw as much effort into this one... It's a bunch of music that other people have given me recently. :)
Ayo wrote:I mostly make mixCDs to get songs off my computer and into my stereo, so aesthetics didn't matter as much to me. For that reason, I also routinely throw three, four or five songs from an artist onto any given mix I make.
Oh yeah, I do that all the time to listen to music in my car. I don't really count those though...

Awesome stuff, dude! Although the image is a little too small for us to make out the actual track listing of your mix CD...

Kind of mix-related: Bruce Springsteen's "I'm On Fire," followed directly by The Shins' "New Slang." Try it sometime.

While queuing up music to listen to while working on my story, I put together this little mix to say goodbye to Pittsburgh. This is probably the most conceptual mix I've made! It's about being lonely and then driving away, across the country. It's just a first draft. Any suggestions?

I'm guessing since this mix isn't meant for a CD, and if you don't mind long instrumentals (9 minutes' worth), I might recommend searching out Mono's (the japanese band) "Human Highway." It's a slow burner, that one.

Coulda sworn iPods don't...don't rotate much at all...:P

And sorry if this doesn't work in Windows 98...but Windows Media Player 10 happens to rock for ripping files (it'll do MP3s, finally, and offers very nice control). It'll also does cross-fading, and it's playback engine, or whatever you call the way it plays back, is quite awesome - everything seems to sound better on WMP, even non-equalized.

Hmm I would like to fit it on a CD to give to people... And there are a couple instrumentals here already ("Laurens Walking" and "Ends of the Earth"), but I will still check it out. Thanks Kean!

Also I think "No Cars Go" should probably be the last track. 8)

Neil,

You rock! There I said it... and I'm not taking it back.... So there.
I'm loving this cd cover sooo much. Plus the music isn't so bad, lol.
You and Kean have brought so many bands and songs my way, atleast, that I want to say thanx.

Haha ditto Ariel. I'll have to make a nice cover for my driving-away mix and send it to you.

One of my favorite traveling songs is Ben Gibbard's Carolina, and I haven't ever been to Carolina.
Where are you leaving to?
Here's the mp3 to the song, Neil :D

I revised the playlist a bit, I'll have to dig it up...
