The National - Boxer

Post by bclark » Fri Dec 21, 2007 8:58 am

PASTE Magazine's album of the year: Boxer by the band The National.

I acquired this recently and it sounds pretty good. I'm not sure if it's album of the year material, but I'd be interested to hear everyones' thoughts.

Yeah, I listened to it non-stop for a while... it definitely is one of the strongest albums, top to bottom, I have heard this year. I would say a good choice for album of the year.

Ahh, I forgot that I wanted this album!

"Mistaken for Strangers" is the first video I put on my shiny new ipod:

Right on. I really do like this cd. It grows on me every time I hear it. Boxer is pretty darn solid.

Maybe I'm just partial to Ryan Adam's 'Easy Tiger' for album of the year.

I picked this album up last spring, and it's since become one of my favorites. I unfortunately missed it last year, but I seriously cannot get tired of hearing it. After coming off of some Interpol & the steady rhythms of the strokes, listening to this band just really made sense you know? haha
