Passing Ships

Post by Kazu » Wed Dec 13, 2006 7:14 pm

Here's a piece for the Imaginary Spaces show at Gallery Nucleus this weekend. It's a slightly modified version of the Flight 4 cover image...

They get better every time. I love how you did the sun. The clouds look amazing. The glare and haze are perfect. The highlights on the panels on the whales, the smoke stacks, how the blue-green creeps back into the sky at the top and bottom - all just the right touch. I can't wait to own the book!

Absolutely beautiful! This is definately the best cover so far. Great work my friend. The depth and color are absolutely amazing. The bird pops so well off of the ocean and the whale.

talk about being inspired.

You, with Chris, and kang, as well as Rod , johane and all the others in tehir different way are the food of my soul.
I look at your work, and am astonished at how beautiful it is, and, more than that, the sensation of joy it provides me with.
I think that's how I really judhe a piece, not by the technique used, but by the emotion I get when I look at it.

Your work always, ALWAYS has this effect on me.

It's sooo nice. I wish I knew your methods and techniques, or at least what brushes you use.

Two things I really love to see done well are birds and clouds, and you've got them both done extremely well. Beautiful.

Wow, I mean really, wow. BTW is that the bird rider from the cover of volume 1 on the bottom there?
To view the last of me, a living frame
For one more picture! in a sheet of flame
I saw them and I knew them all. And yet
Dauntless the slug-horn to my lips I set,
And blew. "Childe Roland to the Dark Tower came."
