Post by Dalto » Sun Jul 17, 2005 5:37 pm

anyhow i really liek the jungle book stories..and some where in the future i want to retell them in comic graphic novel format with more of a young adult theme and with a deeper indian direction in terms of style and culture.

WOw. Very very nice lighting and coloring on the first one.
The rest are great too, but the first one is just awesome.

Nice drawings, the style seems animation-ish, but not in a bad way. My favorite drawing is the one of Mowgli sitting on a rock.

You mentioned that you wanted to make the comic more Indian, so the coloring of Mowgli's skin seems off to me. Right now he looks like a tanned white person, while Indians have a very distinct shade, and I think their coloring is usually darker around the eyes. That was just a thought to make it more authentic....

This stuff looks great! I really like the third one, and the pencil sketch of the first one is also great. Nice work. :)

Hi Dalto!
I've been lurking over the daily scribble for a while and I really like your work. Your characters are vibrant and expressive and your layout sense is prime.
I'm not sure if the colors in the first peice are really working, but other than that this is a beautiful dump.
Keep posting!

woop thanks friends!

about the skin color, yeah wasn't to happy with how his skin turned out..
i will most likely end up making him like you said darker, but not to dark probably a middle ground between tan and really dark.

thanks for the replies again

moms always told me not to fight, but she also told me not to let anyone in my backyard.
