( ( SEMIHEMISPHERE ) ) website re-oomfed

Post by Sweet_Baboo » Fri Dec 24, 2004 2:38 pm

http://www.semihemisphere.com/

the content's not that different but changed the flash page. (still in
semi(hemi)-development - there are some unfinished links)

is 3.2 MB too big for people to load? is the size okay?

if there are any web-developer people out there, any suggestions? i kinda just figured out things on my own as i went along...

also: does anyone know how to script in FLASH so that the link windows resize to the shape of the contents/images? (now they all open to the same size)

thanks!
Miwa

It took me around, 5-15 seconds to load it, and I am on a 256k or so cable connection. So, I think its alright.

The website looks pretty rad, I like it.
Also, you have some spiffy work there!

Sorry that I can't give you any advice on how to do what you want.

hey, thanks for the feedback, everybody!

i'm glad the loading time isn't horrible or annoying...

i might make the size smaller, maybe do the image links in frames? (instead of pop-up windows - i don't want to put them in the flash menu page, because it would increse the file size too much.)

yay! i have animations that i'm currently working on - can't wait to put them up, up!

Hehe - I love it! It would be big for people running a Dial-Up connection - or if their connection is running slow. If you're into it, you can make a lo-fi version of it - but it's probably fine the way it is :D Very swank, swank indeed.

Nice collaged images! I like the cityscapes.

On the web design side ... The site loads up fairly quickly on my cable connection. It's great that you labeled the various menu options -- I can't count how many Flash sites I've been to that offer only weird icons for navigation.
