did this painting for a friend - always a bad idea to promise paintings to your friends...allllways...but painting with real paint again was scary/fun

Promises are meant to be broken, I promised so many friends thats I would draw and paint for them, and i never come through on the art, HA!!!(but I always get stuck helping them move, d'oh)

Anyways, Chris, dang nice piece, well painted and your characters have great emotion. Since people have given love to the man and robot, i will give my love to the pigeon on the ground. Really nice piece.

Love that cute li'l robot. Your friends are pretty lucky to have someone take the time to paint something like this, even if it's once in a blue moon.

Chris, will you be my friend?

i think asking chris to paint another one is bad, and for one am ashamed at you kean for asking him to be his friend under such shallow circumstances...

Hey guys, this painting is HUGE, too. I was working on my comics when Chris left the room to paint this thing, and I was about halfway done inking half a panel when I decided to get up and check on the progress, and it was pretty much done!!

And Chris, for future gift paintings, it's all about the watercolors. :D

Great piece, man! I love the bot.

I dont like promising anything either, once you commit yourself they hold you to it over and over and over...It stinks when it comes out looking so good too.

Great work!

thanks for the compilerments, sorry for the late reply i was nowhere near a computer for the last week - kazu in particular enjoyed tormenting me most of the time i was painting this (~5 hrs) by pointing out how it was "all about the watercolors baby" while debating aloud whether his gift-paintings would take 20 mins or perhaps 25....;-)

and khang inspiried the whole thing by pointing at two old men in Studio City and saying "look! old people with ice cream. that's coooooool."
