The anteater's sketch thread

Post by Anteater » Fri Aug 06, 2010 12:49 pm

Hello all you flighties! I've been away for some time, but but I always knew I was coming back here some day.
Today I have launched my new web site, so I thought it appropriate with a new sketch thread as well! Hopefully I'll have the time and energy to keep this site alive, unlike the old one.
I'll post here at flightforums as well, but I hope someone will take a look at the site as well. I know it's not all that big and fancy, but as I'm a web novice, I'm really proud of it.

I'll kick it of with a little sketch:

It's good to be back :D

Great focus points, atmosphere, use of color and on the Japanese scene, it has a cool alla prima type style, I like seeing the process in it. But opposite to that I enjoy the more polished futuristic scene because it has a great gradual lighting, still holds a focal point. You feel like your seeing this all from the ship. Nice work!

Excellent, love how the black of the tree line fades into the black of the sky.

Gosh, it's been a long time since I came around to do some drawing. Anyway, here's a mushroom for you all.

An old timer that I found laying around and decided to post. For some reason I find the mushroom shape a very intriguing one.

Thanks arrow, it took quite some time, so I'm glad you like it.
Here's something new, or old depending on how you look at it:

An old concept that I made for one of those projects that I started, but never had the patience to finish. But I still hope to some day find that energy that was driving me in the beginning, to finish the whole thing.
