Sketches, illustrations and knick knacks

Post by Disa » Wed Sep 16, 2009 5:51 am

Hello! Found this board through googling the Flight comics anthology a while ago, and after being sort of a board hopper (and being completely overwhelmed by big huge sites like Conceptart.org), I've decided to give this one a try. I really like the atmosphere and I think the general style of what is posted on here attracts me. Also it's a nice pace, smaller board, which I enjoy.
For a little info about me, I'm an art student, in the swedish equivalent of a Foundation year in illustration and graphic design. I'm liking it so far, and I'll probably be posting a lot of assignments here.

I always enjoy a good critique, so any pointers are welcome. I want to improve. :)

Hello :D
Nice to see your art, and looking forward to see your assignments. I like your moleskin pencil work. The first illustration reminds me of Karine Haaland a Norwegian comics creator, http://www.revisef65.org/fe2karinehaaland.html
I think you may find here comics to be an inspiration.

mr cow: thanks! ^__^
Blom: I see what you mean, she has a fun style, thanks for the tip! I only found a few comics on the web but they made me snicker.

A digital doodle from today ... haven't been doing much digital lately but I want to pick it up again.

Thought it was time to update ... I guess I'm a little slow at it.

Doodle ... I always think of birthdays as a little uncomfortable. I posted a coloured version on dA (http://asidisa.deviantart.com/art/the-b ... -142257497) but I'm not super happy with it so here's the pencil drawing instead:

School thing, make an illustrative alphabet ... weird little animal thingies is something I like to draw anyways so I thought I might aswell!

Life drawing! We don't have it at school but I try to go in the evenings if I'm not too tired.

:D Yeah I like B best I think, overall the first ones came out best as it got harder and harder not to do something that looked too much like one of the ones I had already done and still keep it consistant.
