watercolor, boys, cats

Post by Sskessa » Wed Aug 06, 2008 12:40 am

Hey y'all, this is my first art post here. Like many others, I'm more than a little intimidated by the average skill level here, but then, I'm also super-eager to get feedback and advice. I'll put all my stuff here so as not to clutter the board, and in anticipation I've given the thread a title that encompasses ~80% of my work.

Here's some of my recent stuff from the past few months:
Image
A friend's character. I want to give a good impression of my technical abilities before I start posting the stuff where I tried to do some technique and failed.

An illustration of a dream from a story/comic I'm writing.

I was trying to make it colorful and naturalistic at the same time.

A sketch based on a piece of prose I was writing. The story begins as he was walking across the street when a car honked at him. So he gave it the finger. He sat down at the bus stop and a moment later, the same car pulls up in front of him. Uh-oh...

Hope you enjoyed ^_^ I'll post some more later.

It is a cool way to use watercolors on that tree and the city.

Thanks, guys, for your comments ^_^

Flood - I haven't read or heard of "Hamster Vice". You have a link?

Blom - Actually the tree is acrylic. I forgot to mention because I almost never use acrylic.
