Rex Haggard, Cosmic Explorer--minor alterations plus doodle

Post by O » Mon Apr 19, 2004 4:04 pm

A piece I did in the Outer Space! theme about a month ago. Not super happy with it, although I did it when I was super sick. C&C always wanted.

Thanks for all the feedback.

"You like Socialist Realism?"
"Socialist Realism is one of my weakest areas."
"Are you talking about art?"
"No."

Quote from Martin Cruz Smith that posts made me think of.

I would loose the glow effect around the helmet. Perhaps some stars in the sky?

That helmet could use a little defrosting...

The pose and everything reminds of Soviet realism and fascist propaganda, but set in outer space!

cool pic, reminds me of tin tin as well
only thing that bothered me was the thicker black line on inside crater seems to be on wrong side, compared to other shadows.

I love that genre. Like old '50s sci-fi... where the chicks wear mini skirts in space and stuff.
Love it

The first one looks much better. The second sketch is cool. The gun needs to be fixed and his right foot is off.
