Chipotle Menu sketches

Post by ChadTHX1138 » Sun Apr 20, 2008 2:17 am

A group of guys from the studio I work at went to Chipotle for lunch Friday. remembering Andrew Wilson’s drawings on Chipotle menu’s (http://www.fourthwish.com/thumbnails.ph ... r=chipotle). I couldn’t resist snatching a few and giving it a try. I gotta admit…the paper is really good quality. If they made sketchbooks from this stuff I would be all over it.

well here’s what I drew….

Holy crud, Chad!!!! This stuff is very impressive.

What are you using for the white?

What are you doing now... Are you planning to do a comic?

Honolulu Dogfight: I copied a panel from a Granny Mc Go story he drew. That is one of my favorite comics by Toth. He inspires me.

Steve Og: Thanks, I use FW acrylic Ink, opaque white with a brush. I really dig their Black Ink as well. It reminds me of how Black Magic used to be a long time ago.

As far as comics I have Ideas for them stuck in my head...some I still haven't finished. There was one I did for Flight but realize it isn't all that worthy of the book. I just have to finish the color on it.

lhrybyk: You should go, the food is great too. I'm craving a burrito right now. If you do some sketches on a menu feel free to post it in this thread.

Greatnation: Wow thanks for doing that! I actually think it would be cool to start a cartoonist movement where these things get framed up in chipotles in exchange for burritos or selling them for charity etc... I think they would be pretty cool hanging up in the stores.

Oh by the Way the Sgt. was inspired by Team Fortress 2 as well as the upcoming Battlefield Heroes game.

TF2 is what I am hooked on playing these days. BFHs will be free to play so I expect to be playing it with you guys when it launches. www.battlefield-heroes.com :D

very sweet! the toth one is a great, some really good energy.

I know this hamburger place in Australia that has white paper to sketch on and they post the best of the sketches on their site. Would be cool if
Chipotle did something like that with these!

I don't know if chipotle would do it, they might though. They are way into having each store very similar in art and appearence, so if you did try to do it it would have to be an everywhere kinda thing.

Frank- They also make you smarter.
