You have this wonderful range of subjects and a fantastic control over your work that makes it seem loose and fluid, but is actually very tight and conveys a great deal.

I realize that I am not the target audience, but I find the nude women kind of disappointing. You design these amazing (and often amusing) costumes that are so engaging, that the naked form is kind of a letdown. Again, that could be my take because I am not the target audience.

Overall, I love your work and find it absolutely inspiring (and daunting).

Hi Pascal! I'm not sure when I'll be in the area again. I want to go to Comic-Con next year, but I'm too late for a table I think. I won't be at APE this year. Who knows, maybe I'll get a chance to visit some of the studios at some point. It would be great to see you guys again!

Geez, your imagination is so impressive that it is daunting. Those creature designs were quite fun and crazy!

These sketches are amazing Steve. Your character designs are so varied and imaginative, I especially love the variety of aliens. Also, you have a really nice mix of pencil, inks and coloured illustrations here. Its cool being able to see how you work from pencil through to colour. Very inspiring thread... thanks!

So here's some more Una stuff. I've turned a corner with the world this story is set in, and it's starting to yield some interesting ideas. Don't worry, it's still very much Sword and Sorcery but I've started heading toward a less explored sub-genre. I don't want to give too much away though, so I'll leave it at that.

As I've mentioned before, I've also been drawing costume inspiration from Gustave Moreau. I find it's helpful to have a basis from which to draw imagery in order to avoid recycling cliches. I also want to invent a culture that has a bit more depth than your standard Sword and Sorcery setting. There is no real culture I'm aware of, no matter how warlike, that doesn't attempt to make their warriors aesthetically pleasing. Just say 'No' to spiky shoulder plates!
