New Illustrator

Post by richgemmell » Mon Feb 25, 2008 6:55 am

Hey, My name is Rich an im just about to graduate from an illustration an design degree in Leicester England, i Read about this forum on Frank Stocktons site and saw a lot of good work so i thought i would post some images and get an idea of what people think. I also have a blog site at richgemmell.blogspot.com. Hope you like. I tend to mix rough and loose hand drawn line work with scanned textures and digital colour, im still very much developing but here are a few examples...

I should get a royalty!

good work, keep pushin it, these look a little small for web viewing, I usuall make stuff between 500-700 px wide so it is viewable all at once on most monitors...

Funny thing, before you even mentioned Frank, I thought, "These have a little Stockton in them."

Keep working. And, yeah. Bigger pics, please.

Roll on.

I really like the feel of these pieces! I love that combination of rough line work and the overlay of color fields. It's a great look, IMO.

Mos def w/ the bigger pictures. I like what I see and I'd love to see more!

Oh wow! I love that last one! That and the first one are my favorites. But I really like the way your line quality works with the buildings and especially the telephone wires.

How do you put in your colors? Photoshop?

Awesome!
