"The Floating Enigma Magician" painting pg. 2

Post by Sam Gambino » Tue Jan 29, 2008 2:35 pm

Hi all! I'm new here - I've been watching from the sidelines for a while, and thought that it would be great to join. I'm an artist and pinstriper who does most all of my painting with SignPainter's 1-Shot. Sometimes, I incorporate gold leaf as well. Most of my illustrations are done in Illustrator, but I do dabble in ink. Here are a few new enamel paintings of mine for a Feb. 6 show at Merry Karnowski Gallery in LA..... Thanks for looking!

Here's a painting based on an old Twilight Zone that I like a lot... This one is Criswell from Plan 9 from Outer Space.

hey, i remember that episode. That was one of the ones Shatner was in. I love your stuff. So rarely do you see this sort of subversive 50's art to actually LOOK like it came out of the era. very true to the actual stuff that was around at the time. Just... beyond cool.

Thanks a bunch, Squiggly P! That's one of the best compliments I've gotten in a while, because I always intend to make my art look like it's from that time. I appreciate the kind words!

Playboy pig-man illustration, bottom pg. 1

Post by Sam Gambino » Fri Feb 29, 2008 12:21 am

Here's a new one... I couldn't resist another pig doctor. This time, it's an insecure, sugar-daddy pig-playboy inspired by an old pulp novel. He also ended up with a Jerry Stiller-style forehead and hairstyle:
