new art from new member

Post by shauno » Fri Dec 07, 2007 5:06 pm

Hi everyone,

I've finally decided to join up and post some of my art. I'm looking at making the change from 2d/3d artist at a games company to freelance illustrator next year and would love any information/tips/feedback anyone has to offer (especially anything relating to finding clients, payment and contracts). I've added a range of my work below. If you'd like to see more, you can check my website http://www.squidtank.com .

Sweet! I'm not loving the overly digital feel of the first and fourth, but the others are awesome. You've got a great style.

nateomedia - thanks mate, yeah the cardboard is heaps of fun to paint on, i've been using the cartons that 1.25L soft drink bottles come in.
boko - thanks for that, the little cat actually belongs to my girlfriend, hes a cool little critter.
MG - cheers, i'm glad you liked a couple of them, thanks for the comments :)
KidVideo - nah, never made it to the streets unfortunately
Termian - thanks mate, I'm hoping people will get a laugh out of my stuff, thanks for checking it out.

I really like the contrast between the (obviuosly) computer generated/colored images and the hand-drawn/painted images. The second one is the best example of this.
Nice stuff all around!

What did you use to paint the snail?

Great stuff btw, I'm always a fan of more octopi/squid related stuff too!
