Wow frank those last two are awesome. Love the way the bear is drawn in the 2nd piece and how much attention you gave to its fur. And the 1st pic is so ominous too. Awesome.

Frank -- I would like to follow the news on your blog but you don't seem to offer an rss feed. I keep track of a lot of illustrator's work that way (I am lazy). It looks like your blog is hosted by Blogger -- any chance you'll turn on a feed?

would LOVE to do an RSS feed, unfortunately I don't know how to do it. I've asked people who have one but no one's been able to help me figure it out. Any helpers?

Am I right about your blog running through Blogger?

If so, try this: http://help.blogger.com/bin/answer.py?a ... opic=12455

well I've been through all this before. According to the directions and the way its set up on blogger, I've had the RSS stuff set the right way for quite some time now. I'm thinking the problem is that in my formatting I removed the stupid sidebar that comes with blogger that has links and all that junk. I wish I could put the RSS button right under the posts or something.

Anyway, it looks like it's too hard to figure out, still. Sorry.

Heh, nice illustration even though this movie looks pretty bad...but I'll wait for the reviews. I love the bullet by the way.

Hey Frank, RE: your RSS problem in Blogger...

In your 'Site Feed' tab, you should have something like: Site Feed URL, Site Feed Filename, Site Feed Path.

So using mine, I have:
Site Feed URL: http://www.scottmhallett.com/xml/journal.xml
Site Feed Filename: journal.xml
Site Feed Path: /xml/

Then, in my template I have the following code:

<link rel="alternate" type="application/atom+xml" title="Scott Hallett's Sketchbook" href="http://www.scottmhallett.com/xml/journal.xml" />

So if you edit your template in HTML mode, you can add that line in between the <head> and </head> lines. Be sure to change the title and href appropriately (href would basically be Site Feed URL, which is essentially Site + Site Feed Path + Site Feed Filename). Just put it on it's own line, and be sure you don't delete anything that's already there.

What this will do is for people using RSS ready browsers/applications is when they visit your site, they'll be given your RSS as an option to add to their reader. Most of the current browsers now have this feature.

If you know HTML, then I'm sure this all makes sense, if not, feel free to PM me or something if you need more help. I selfishly offer this advice for my own want of an RSS feed for your site.

EDIT: You can add a link to the rss to the bottom of each post as well, you'd just use something like <a href="Site Feed URL">RSS</a> in the template of your posts.

Hey Scott,

As far as I know, my RSS is working fine now. I had some help from Mr. Nate Olsen last week. It works for him and it works for me. Are you having issues?

Frank, your artwork always makes me want to go out and play some Killer 7 or No More Heroes.
