Everybody loves Hellboy

Post by Bob-o » Sun Oct 14, 2007 5:44 pm

I thought I would open up a thread that would spotlight Hellboy as a subject... We all love Hellboy and Mike Mignola's art. And I know you have a drawing either finished, half finished(finish it up) or a Hellboy doodle locked away in your noggin that is due to be fully realized. I know your version is better than mine, so show me up and Post your version!

Here it is. I feel its kind of a bland pin up though. Didn't have anything else
in mind while doing it, apart from the character himself.
I 'd like to play around with hellboy at some point, on a piece where I'll get him to actually DO something.

btw, my browser shows this image very desaturated, if you are seeing what
I am seeing here, it's pretty off colorwise. I was going for a really vibrant red.
If anybody knows why is this might happen please do tell.

Anyway, hope you like it.

Hey, no worries. Can never have too much Hellboy. I just mentioned it in case anyone was interested in the ones that already went up. Nice pictures here as well!

Sorry for dragging this out of the grave, but I just scanned an old HB that I wanted to post.

Before you "Save For Web" in Photoshop, go to Edit > Convert to Profile and change the color gamut to sRGB. That should do the trick.

It can also help to go to View > Proof Setup and switch it from CMYK to RGB.

Fun with HB

Post by Dr_Watsman » Tue Jan 01, 2008 2:45 pm

Hey, this is my first post here. I saw the Hellboy images and thought it would be interesting to make one of my own. It was fun borrowing Mignola's style for a bit. I hope you enjoy!
