Introducing One-Two Punch: updated sketch diary 7/17

Post by TheAtomicTerrier » Wed Jul 04, 2007 9:53 am

It's been awhile since I've posted here. Sorry if this seems spammy.
But I love these characters and I'm putting together a new story for them .

The Brothers Punch are two robots adventuring in a medieval fantasy realm full of creatures, and magicks. One is the eldest; he is innocent, wise, and caring. Two is a
scheming, brash, over the top troublemaker.

the first finished drawing of them...man they've changed!

a ink test..just wanted to do some inkwashing

a quick sculpt to help figure out the characters dimensions.

I like the inkwash one the best...in my opinion, the originals have a bit more character than the 'changed' ones. Great stuff though! I'm a sucker for robots.

I definitely agree with the inkwash fans. When i look at it i see a lot of Bill Watterson. Is Calvin & Hobbes an active influence in this piece or like most people here do you just really dig it? Um, or am i off?

Thanks a bunch really, I'm glad you guys dig them as much as i do!
I'm working on a new story, this one will involve an evil wizard, a stupid spellbook and the mysterious Sea-Key.

Sanaril: I may tell that story later...let's just say he's really accident prone!
TmDurn7: I love watterson so I'm sure some of it is trickling through.
Blom: I don't really use it for drawing but it helped me 'realize' how he'd work. more of the mechanics of the character than to se as a model.

a secondry idea i have in mind, involving the Drat and Imps that try to kidnap and eat him.
also a knight that is brave and gallant but in following the brothers, becomes cowardly and feeble.
Image
said knight...not sure of his name at this point.
