Orange / Koji Morimoto / Scrapbook

Post by Kazu » Fri Jan 07, 2005 3:36 am

This is an amazing art book. My jaw dropped the first time I opened it, even though I already knew what to expect. Koji Morimoto has been a very influential artist in the Japanese animation community, and you may be familiar with him mainly as the director of the Animatrix short called Beyond. He was the animation supervisor and production designer on Akira and many other large Japanese animation productions. Anyway, I highly recommend this book. It's a must-have.

The cover alone makes me want to check this out. It really looks extremely spiffy.

Beyond was so cool. In his interview on the DVD, Morimoto seemed like a really kooky guy.

Oh yeah! My friend has this! It's fantastic! Didn't he do one of the shorts in Memories? I haven't seen that yet, but heard it's pretty cool...
