Bill Peet

Bill Peet was one of the greatest natural storytellers of our time. I think that if I were to pick one artist who has had the most influence on my own work, I would have to say it is this man, if only because I was exposed to his wonderful stories and illustrations at such an early age. When I was about 5 years old, I read and re-read The Caboose Who Got Loose until the book was all worn and tattered. I recently bought myself a new copy out of nostalgia, along with his other 35 children's books, all of which I highly recommend. His layouts, timing, and panoramic compositions are incredible, no doubt a result of his having worked as a lead story artist at Disney for many years.
