Mechanika - Creating the art of Science Fiction with Doug Chiang

I searched the forum for 'Mechanika' and it doesn't look like anyone has posted about this book before? Although I could have missed the post...

This book is awsome. It has a stacks of walk through tutorials where the author shows the progression of his sci-fi concept art from pencils sketches through to digitally coloured artworks.

I am very keen to improve my skill with colouring and to try my hand at digital painting (my natural style is more cartoony and simple colours)... and I have been using this book as a bit of a guide.

Maybe the walk-throughs could be a bit more detailed. But still a v useful book.

I'm a fan of his works since I first came across it in those "Art of Episode 1 and 2" books, but I didn't know this book even existed. Thanks for the heads up!
