A one-volume manga by Fumiyo Kono, I finished the first two of three short stories last night. It's quite an engaging read, detailing life in the decade following the dropping of the bomb in Hiroshima. Very touching, unsettling and well written. It won several awards in Japan, and I understand it's been made into a movie as well.

Ooh! I read that a few weeks ago too, on the loan/recommendation of a friend. I was really surprised I hadn't heard of it before actually, and liked it a lot. Very sweet and light-handed, considering the subject matter.

Absolutely, just a perfect presentation start to finish. It's the first graphic novel my wife's been interested in reading (she doesn't read comics).
