I have to admit i am a Will Smith fan - I absolutely loved the movie and I think it is just great acting that you can watch a single man for such a long time and not get bored (I also felt that way when I watched Phone Booth).

I felt that way about "Castaway".

I don't think this remake does the story justice.
The original with Heston explores the city and the mans own vacancy much better.
Also, in both versions but more so with the Will Smith film, the films miss-out on emphasising that he is 'Legend' because he is the supposed to be the last man alive. To the vampires he is a myth, coming out whilst they are asleep and picking them off.
Add to that the Will Smith version has an alternate ending which is so much more convincing. They should have stuck with that, it solidfies their version of the story much better.
