My first try at a graphic novel...

Post by PuzzleShift » Wed Dec 06, 2006 4:46 pm

Wow, I haven't logged on for months and I've got a hell of a lot of catching up to do!
In the mean time, I've completed my first "graphic novel" of sorts. My friend Amy Susan approached me a few months back asking if I would illustrate a short story she had written. It was based on things that have happened while visiting her grandfather, who resides in an Alzheimer's home. We completed the project for our small church's thirteenth art show and even managed to sell several copies (thank you Kinko's!)! That was exciting. Anyway, here are links to the original inks and the shaded version I just completed and cleaned up in Photoshop. I did it traditionally - penciled, inked, and shaded with brush pens. I'd love any and all criticism of the art and I'm sure Amy would appreciate any critique of the story-telling. Thanks!
