Very cool. Nice palatte, and I love the squarish panels. The only thing that didn't quite click with me was the use of the squiggly black lines when the squirrel was yawning and when irritated. That's probably because I read them to mean either groggy/upset. Not sure, it just felt odd, especially in the first few panels, after he's been shocked out, the lines only appear when he yawns.

But the whole thing was very good. :D

Nice cartoon. But I agree with the swiggy line. Is that suppose to be a yawn?
Still,I like it!! :D

This is lots of fun! I really like the woodgrain you put in.

The "SHBOING" or whatever sound effect is kind of hard to read, because it's behind him so much. Not a big deal though.

Thanks so much for your comments !

The swiggy lines mean that the squirrel is hungry, irritated... May be it's a french way to show that ? I do not know...

Anyway : you like it and it makes me feel... good :D

Hello,

This comic is fantastic, I really love the page layouts, they're interesting and fun to read. The story is funny, too. Really great stuff. My only critique would be that when the kids are kicking the ball, I can't tell what sound effect it's making because the squirrel is blocking the noise. Perhaps it wouldn't matter anyway because the French phonetics are completely different from English. Anyway, my other comment was about the very last word in the last panel, I think he's crying out loud? Again, this is just another language comment.

au revoir (did i spell that right?)

I want to see more of the squirrel's dreams. Those little acorns are hilarious!

Waw it's a pleasure to read such good comments (I hope my english is not un-readable !)

Franck Stockton : You spelled "Au revoir" right ;)
I agree with your comments : noises are not really the same in french comics than in english... In the last panel the Lil' Squirrel is crying, yes ;)

About dreams : we are actually working on a long (for french editors) story... may be there will be some dreams in this long one...

Here is the new style of the Lil'Squirrel :

Hehe, really nice! I like your timing for the scenes. I have to admit, it was a bit annoying not being able to read the ball sound effect more clearly (at least once).
I also often do little "angry clouds" above my characters. Being francophone though, I can't say if it's something that...we just use compared to more American style iconic language.
I may have added extra tears coming out of the tree at that last panel (or even around the words in the bubble)

Et le nouveau design? Trop mignon!!
