Zita the Spacegirl: (added another strip: 7/21)

Post by househatke » Fri Jul 15, 2005 6:13 am

Four pages this month. These things are creeping up on me and getting longer. But I feel better about this on than about last month's episode.

And for those of you in San Diego this weekend, I hope you're having the time of your lives!

Enjoy!

Thanks everyone! I'm so glad the Flight board is back up!

I started thinking about Zita SG as a comic strip lately (in an abstract sense, not neccesarily for syndication) and I penciled a few installments. Here's the one I had time to ink: (I lined the panels vertically for the net):

Exceedingly cute. I loved the concept of all that banging about causing another butterfly in Robot Randy's belly. Your style reminds me a tiny bit of William Joice (mostly just in Zita's face) -- is he an influence of yours?

This is the first I've heard of William Joyce. I looked him up on the Google though, and his stuff is neat! His site didn't seem to work quite right. Just a guy wavin' at me.

Joyce seems to specialize in work for kids, and there are currently a couple of TV shows based on his work (George Shrinks & Rolie Polie Olie). He's also had some work in Art Spiegleman's 'Little Lit' series.
