Dudley & Elliott

Post by Phil McAndrew » Sat Mar 19, 2005 2:52 am

I don't really have a title for this story yet...I'm still working on it, updating daily on my site. I don't know how long it's going to be, but I do know how it will end. I'm kind of winging it, just trying new ideas and experimenting as I go along. I am having a lot of fun, working in a looser style and trying new things, but I don't know how well it all holds together. Hopefully it will all come together nicely in the end!

Let me know what you guys think so far....

That's all that i've completed so far, but I am still updating it almost every day on my site with a few panels each day.

I really like it, Phil! The 9-panel square images work really well.
The sketchy pencil finish is really warm and appealing.

Dudley feels like a kind of giant, bloated (but more relaxed) Bert from Sesame Street.

I'm interested to see where you're headed with it.

holy moly, i love it! the nine panel thing is definitely adding new dimension and that big blob guy has some classic expressions. keep it up, this is publishable material.

just a side-comment, the lines for the first and last one dont look as crisp and well thought out compared to the middle ones. Just an observation. Also, although the lettering worked perfectly for part 3, it feels too rustic for the other panels.

Thanks fellahs! I'm glad you guys like it so far.

lameboi - Yea, I'm still playing around with scanning and adjusting the contrast, stuff like that. Things should get more consistant soon hopefully. As for the lettering, I will try harder! I really just have awful handwriting.
