'Drockleberry' preview ( updated ) ( again..:)

Post by uminthecoil » Thu Feb 10, 2005 10:12 am

hi...still fairly new here...
haven't quite gotten over the whole mouth dropping impression that the art on these boards has had on me...:)
...
I wanted to post the few pages of this story i just started...at the moment, it's more or less an exercise/experiment...the sort'a story that a year ago I would have told myself was a bit too much to tackle...
a conscience can be such a weasel at times...heh

hey andrew those are some good pages....
your color works really well with your inks.
How do you choose those shapes of color inside the ink ...do you know what I'm asking?
like those creepy colors in the bloody face and clothes and the green on the pipes in the bg.

Really bold.

hi Mike...thanks...
I think I know what your asking...
I color everything digitally, in Photoshop on layers beneath the Ink work, selecting particular areas with the 'lasso tool' ...I try to keep every major element on a seperate layer until I'm more or less sure the page is finished, so I can tweek various color balances and contrasts until I think I have what I'm look'n for.
if you have Photoshop and your curious, I can email you a small tutorial I made a few weeks ago that illustrates this better.
thanks again.

The graphics are very impressive. Beautiful page layouts. Great coloring, and what captivating line work! The narration is very intriguing. Is this the end of the piece, or is there more?

your "stuck in the loop"...that's inventive and pretty damn gorgeous...
and the colors you used in "the one man show" were just perfect...
thanks again

McCool - thanks a lot...
yeah, there's more...once I get a few more pages done, I'll update this thread.
thanks.

This is very strong, I like it. Beautifull page layouts and nice contrast between the two characters.

Thank you, friend for the horrors you have perpetrated unto mine eyes. I think that I shall never sleep again. There's just too much blood on the knob.

Thank you.
