I like this comic, I've visited your website and I think it's the best you've made so far. I really like the artwork!

Two small points of critique though. Some of the poses/actions of your characters are a little "off". For instance page 5 panel 1, I'm missing his right arm. I know the character is twisting his body so he can make a hard hit, but I still think you should see something of the right arm (panel 4 and 5 are spot on by the way). The other thing is the transition from page 5 to 6. At the end of page 5 the bear is charging toward the guard, but on page 6 the guard is charging the bear. I feel there should be a few panels between those two panels so the story will read more fluently.

But other than that I think its great.

Varangian Guard -- The eye!

Post by agitainment » Mon Aug 17, 2009 10:24 am

Thanks for the critical eye, Joost. I appreciate your taking the time to read and give feedback. I'll just say that with the figure on page 5, the right arm is there but hidden by the head. Given that the right arm is in shadow anyway, I didn't want to emphasize it and have it jutting out and confusing the silhouette of the head. Just my solution at the time, though I'm sure there are lots of better ways to do it. Cheers.

In the meantime...

Can Harald survive the blood-thirsty bear in this week's episode of "Varangian Guard" at Agitainment.Comics?

Looks ace I'll check it out. Reminds me of 2000AD when I used to read it circa 1988.
