noname's comics

Post by Noname the fox » Tue Jun 24, 2008 6:13 am

Hy I'm Nick, I'm a 18 year old art student from Hungary. I've been drawing comics since I remember. Here's a 4 pages piece of the series called Noname. Hope you'll like it!

Something about your art style is very nostalgic, but I can't quite put my finger on it. I want to say Tintin and Le Pettite Prince or Goodnight Moon, but I know that's not it...it'll come to me though ^^; I'm almost positive it's another European artist though. The image sizes are huge and the last two images aren't working at all so could you maybe try to relink them?

Well I reloaded them but I don't know what's the matter they seemed to be working, maybee this time it'll work. Thanks for commenting anyway, I didn't know I had a european style, I mostly read american comics.

I also thought of the Little Prince. Maybe it's the simple, yet complex line drawings along with the moon that does it.

In any case, well done, it's charming
I keep a sketchblog here

Love the line "I woke up on the moon again" :) Interesting so far, is there more?

Fumetto

Post by Noname the fox » Sat Jul 05, 2008 2:10 pm

I made this about one and a half years ago for the 2007 Fumetto comix competition and it won third prize in the 13-17's category (because I was under 18 at that time) next to the tale of a German talking robot. This is the link of all the other winners, but that all happened long ago. http://www.fumetto.ch/07/ausstellungen.cfm

Anyway hope you'll like it and comment your opinion on it, even though it isn't my newest piece.

There's something quite beautiful going on with these comics you've posted. First the artwork is unlike anything I can place. If I had to, I'd say it was The Little Prince mixed with Mike Mignola mixed with Maus mixed with old Dick Tracy comics. The stories and delivery are subtle, smooth and well thought out. They put a smile on me.

I'm envious. If you're doing this at 18, I can't wait to see what you'll be doing at 38.

Roll on, Genius.

AUDI comic

Post by Noname the fox » Sat Jul 19, 2008 1:22 am

There was a competition of Audi, here in Hungary about a year ago. The task was to make a 4 pages long comic adaptation on 1 of 3 optional short stories. All three tales were quite simple, and they were all about the Audi TT roadster car. I changed the plot a bit and the dialogues as well just to make it fit to the comic form. The first prize was a lot of money, but that doesn't mean anything to me cause I didn't win at all. Anyway I had a lot of fun doing the visuals because I'v never done anything like that before.
Hope you'll like it, and I'd also like to hear your opinion on it.
