Lightshade

Post by ScottEwen » Mon Nov 12, 2007 6:15 pm

We have no title for this yet. Suggestions are welcome.

EDIT: We're going with "Lightshade."

Love it!

What's wrong with just "Lightshade"? Or maybe a subtitle? "Lightshade: How to Pick up Chicks"?

I' m not typically a big fan of horror, but I like your drawing, vantage points, characters, facial expressions, inking. Good stuff. Panel 2 is kind of wordy -- but nice comic.

Okay so we're retooling this comic for Zuda, and I've finished the first two pages so far. The girl was changed because Kev wanted her sexier.

Nice comic!
Looking good in color too!
But I gotta say I kinda dig her more in the first version. Still great. I never heard of zuda. It's a cool idea.

I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but it had way more charm in the original black and white.

Thanks... I dug Vorenica more in the first version, too, but that's not my call to make. Zuda is a webcomics site owned by DC Comics.

Well, I'm not the best colorist out there, but I'm doing my best. Maybe the more pages I do the better at coloring I'll get.

Here's the third page lettered but not colored:

Your inking is so crisp... I too enjoyed it more in black and white. But it's probably smart to color it for Zuda, as that is usually a plus with voters. Your coloring is just fine, it's just that the black and white had a certain feel to it.

Good luck... I hope you get in!

Pretty cool stuff. I have to agree with some of the other posters that I dug the look of the line art in Black and White. And, I suppose it's just personal preference, but I thought the original girl was both sexier and more visually interesting.

Aside from all that, though, it's looking pretty cool and I like the smoothness of your line work and the clarity of your storytelling.
