Latest artwork from short story

Post by JonS » Wed Oct 03, 2007 10:01 pm

Hi all, here's a page from a short story I just finished. It's going to be in the upcoming You Ain't No Dancer vol 3 anthology. It's my first time playing around with halftones trying to the mimic that ol' zipatone effect. This image is way off-resolution, the original is 1200dpi and so it's making a funky pattern.....anyway here it is:

I like the look of the halftone shading in panels 2 and 4. It reminds me a lot of some of the old comics my father has from the 60s and 70s.

Is there any reason that you did not use the same style of shading on the characters in panels 4 and 5? Or does it just look that way because of the resolution change?

yeah just switching it up a bit. but wherever you see the halftones it's turned into a funky pattern bc of the resolution change. it should look more like dots, like in panel 2
