washed ashore - a little comic by me

Post by kidnemo » Tue May 29, 2007 2:20 pm

Heya all.

Inspired by willmj and eekeemoo I decided to put together a little comic this morning.

*

also put up a little [url=http://www.washedashorecomic.com/washed ashore website[/url] with links to my other work and an rss feed (among some other stuffs).

*

Done in photoshop cs with a wacom tablet. I'll post more pages when they are finished if there is interest.

Lemme know what you think!

Absolutely brilliant. What sort of art tools did you use? I like the texture of the paper.

The background "paper" is a few images of paper and leaves from google that I mashed together in photoshop and tweaked up a bit.

Photoshop and tablets is all. :D

And thanks much!

I love character design and I really liked that little arrow thing on the second to last panel. Keep it up.

This is lovely. I know it's only fake paper and stuff, but I can just imagine this screened onto some chunky brown paper in some chocalatey inks, that would be pretty great.
Post some more - I need to know if the little guy find his other arm.

I had been through your site (which I liked quite a bit) a while back, but I must say that this has quite a bit more character. Really fantastic!

Thanks Scott!

And you're right, my comics basically show the progression of my art over a five year period. Starting back when I began drawing again after a 10 year "layoff", up until now when I've really started practicing seriously and working on improving, not just "doodling" all the time.

And thanks a ton everyone. I really appreciate all the artists on this forum, there are so many amazingly talented artists. To get positive feedback here really means a lot!

cuteness

Cute stuff! Whoever else commented on the paper, I agree, it looks good. It's nice to give my eyes a rest from stark black/whitenesss.

What an old-fashioned robot. Doesn't he know incadnescent light bulbs aren't environmentally-friendly?!

It's so cute ^^ Poor little robot! But I'm sure he'll find his arm again. It's on the front page after all: little robot with -two- arms!

In the past two pictures it looks like there will be a new character introduced soon...
