Writing Comics - Formatting Questions

Post by thirdeyeh » Wed Jun 11, 2008 5:32 am

I'm working on a draft for a graphic novel that I hope be able show around in the future with some pages samples as well. I know from listening to Brian K. Vaughn interviews that there really isn't a format that is preferred by publishers and all, but what experiences have all of you found working with publisher/agents? Right now I am writing in screenplay format since I feel most comfortable with it and I feel it leaves the writer in me to be the writer and the artist to be the artist. Is this something that would be acceptable you think? It feels like such an odd question, because I haven't found one consistent independent method between publishers and so on.

despite never having the notion or desire to publish through dark horse i always use their guidelines. when i write something with their manuscript guide it is easier for me to understand what i wrote.
